First party CTI - direct connection

Direct connection of telephone / PC workstation usually via serial interface (V.24).
The TAPI driver of the telephone manufacturer must be installed on your PC workstation. The TAPI driver of the telephone manufacturer must be installed on your PC workstation. This driver establishes the software to access the telephone functions. You can dial, cut off and receive calls, show and handle the callers numbers on a PC display
According to your driver functions, additional functions are available.

Hardware installation:

Connect your telephone with your PC. See telephone instruction manual for further details. You may need a special adapter for your telephone (see the Tapi driver telephony details).

Software installation:

Install the TAPI driver at your local PC. A TAPI driver is usually obtained from the telephone manufacturer.

Summary:

The 1st party CTI-solution is recommended for home workstations and small offices. You have the chance to equip only certain workstations with CTI, if you so choose. There is no capacity for internet group functions available. If an additional telephone adapter is needed for connection, the 3rd party solution would be the right one.
