Berlecon study: "UC meets business. Unified communications for the optimization of business processes." (2010)

5 years later: the results are more up-to-date and relevant than ever!

As one of the first German manufacturers, estos has been pushing the possibilities and advantages of modern business process integration since 2010 and can therefore support its partners with years of experience in the approach and implementation of successful projects for business process integration.

Findings of the Berlecon study 2010
Unified communications & collaboration solutions should not be viewed in isolation!

The study carried out by Berlecon in 2010, which has since been taken over by Pierre Audoin Consultants (PAC) GmbH, on the subject "UC meets Business. Unified communications for the optimization of business processes" examined the potentials of unified communications and using it not as a stand-alone solution, but an integral part of solutions for the improvement of business processes.

The following four application areas were the focus of the study:

  • External networking (federation)
  • Automation of business processes
  • Optimization of customer communication
  • Integration of mobile employees

In all of these areas, there is a possibility to use a unified communications & collaboration solution as the basis for cross-company cooperation. The communication channels are bundled and integrated in the solution so that the user can operate all important applications in a simple and uncomplicated manner via one "platform".

A useful unified communications & collaboration approach always has the objective to optimize communication-intensive business processes that have a risk of potential errors or information loss, but are particularly critical for success at the same time. Such communication-intensive processes can be found in order processing, customer service or sales, for example.

From a technical point of view, a project of business process integration has the task of interlacing typical work processes based on CRM, ERP or specialist applications with Unified Communications features so that the user can noticeably benefit from them.
