The new features: sending and receiving UMS messages without an e-mail server, information e-mail and other functions of the voice mailbox
Effective immediately, Service Release 1 for ixi-UMS 6 Business is available for free download: The essential innovations are the sending and receiving of UMS messages without an e-mail server, the information e-mail and other functions of the voice mailbox. Basically, the UMS software integrates the fax, voice and SMS services in system environments such as Microsoft Exchange or IBM Domino. ixi-UMS Business is a complete solution for small and medium-sized companies with up to 100 employees.
estos now offers the possibility of sending and receiving UMS messages even without a company having its own e-mail server: The ixi-UMS 6 Business Service Release 1 contains a local message storage where fax, voice and short messages (SMS) are saved. Using the ixi-UMS web journal, users can access this storage using any web browser: they can read their faxes, and listen to their voice messages. Messages sent to unassigned numbers or to inactivated users are assigned to a "default" user. Therefore, no messages are lost. Fax, voice and SMS messages are sent via a new Windows ixi-UMS client application. The sent messages, as well as the appropriate dispatch reports, are stored in this local message storage. Small companies benefit from this opportunity: They can be contacted by their customers and business partners via fax or answering machine, even without operating their own messaging system.
With the ixi-UMS information e-mail, estos facilitates the rolling out of instructions in the use of ixi-UMS Business: Each user receives an individual e-mail informing him of his options and authorizations to send and receive UMS messages. In addition, each voice mailbox user receives a welcome mail. For a better overview for the administrator, the access authorizations for the voice mailbox in user management are now displayed per user. It is also visible here, whether a PIN has been locked. These can be reset or released by the administrator. An e-mail is automatically generated to inform the user, for example, of their new PIN number.
