Connecting unified communications software to multiple telephone systems simultaneously
The new middleware ECSTA from estos is now available for the Avaya IP Office series: The middleware connects the UC software ProCall Enterprise with one or more of the corresponding telephone systems. The advantage: The administrator only has to install and set up the UC software once. It then connects them via ECSTA to any number of PBX telephone systems at one or more locations. "In technical terms this means 'multiple instantiation'," adds Bernd Kattner, Product Manager at estos.
The Starnberg-based software manufacturer offers a series of ECSTA middleware drivers: These enable communication between the ProCall Enterprise UC software and various PBXs from different manufacturers by converting the CSTA PBX protocol to the Microsoft TAPI standard. Users can control their phone with their PC, for example, start or accept a call, forward or end a call. You receive information about callers onscreen and can switch directly to the corresponding contact in the CRM or ERP system. In addition to computer telephony, ProCall Enterprise offers integration functions for unified communications and collaboration: audio/video communication, instant messaging, screen sharing and presence management.

The ECSTA from estos for Avaya IP Office supports all system versions from Release 10.1. The prerequisite for use is an activated Avaya one-X portal and a free license for "CTI Link Pro".
