ESTOS CallControlGateway now offers even more functions and characteristics.
The latest Version of ESTOS CallControlGateway (1.1) is the standard software to integrate VoIP, Hybride and regular telephone systems with the Microsoft Live Communications Server 2005 SPI (LCS) and Microsoft Office Live Communicator. In addition to already existing functions, Version 1.1 now offers even more characteristics:
Extended call number configuration
enables easy integration with existing Active Directories.
Connection of external contact databases to ESTOS MetaDirectory
E.g. public Microsoft Exchange Files, Lotus Notes contact data, LDAP directories and ODBC compatible contact data bases, can be used to search for telephone numbers.
E-mail notification of unanswered calls are individually configured
Logged off users receive notification of all unanswered calls.
Background:
The Microsoft Live Communications Server 2005 (LCS) is Microsoft’s strategic platform for Unified Communications and its functions are closely linked to the soon-to-be-released Microsoft Office 2007 product line. The Office Communicator Client is necessary and already available, and unifies telephone and data services (Presence, Chat, Whiteboard, Video) to a convenient user interface for business users.
For these services the LCS provides several interfaces to connect Gateways, as well as for telephony. The management and control of the telephone functions via the Communicator Client is made by Standards SIP und uaCSTA. Most regular telephone systems do not support Standards SIP and uaCSTA. As the first European software producer since early 2006, ESTOS has been providing an inexpensive and easy to implement Gateway to integrate these systems with LCS and Microsoft Office Communicator. This Gateway connects all TAPI able VoIP and Hybride telephone systems, as well as those that don’t support VoIP. ESTOS CallControlGateway manages the necessary Standards SIP and uaCSTA. Due to the fact that nearly all enterprise telephone systems support the Microsoft TAPI Standard, broad compatibility is therefore guaranteed. This also applies for the majority of CSTA able telephone systems, which don’t support SIP and uaCSTA. Most of these systems can be connected to the ESTOS CallControlGateway via other ESTOS Middleware.
The upgrade of release 1.0 to 1.1 is without charge.
